Hi Bob,

We were given from the Patriot Guard Riders, nothing less than royal treatment on the highest level. I know that many of the participants made sacrifices to attend the escort and am very appreciative. The turn-out was nothing short of extraordinary. CJ took command with grace, strength and passion as the others followed in eager pursuit.

One of the last things David said to me was, “Next time we are together, we will ride."  Sadly to say, that next time never came.  Riding with the Patriot Guard Riders, was a symbol of the last ride with my brother and brought me great peace.  I know David looked down with pleasure and peace of all the events of the day!  The Dayton National Cemetery, (unlike other cemeteries where you are left with a spirit of gloom and sadness), brought peace and beauty to my heart.  I believe it is because of all the brave wonderful souls that are camped there and the loving way in which they are put to rest.  What a beautiful place!  Special thanks to CJ for his generous command, everyone that came out, Tim the chaplain, (a Patriot Guard; who encouraged our hearts) and Steve Verdon for his support and direction to your wonderful organization.  I will forever remember David's funeral with joy, because of the Patriot Guard Riders.  Everything about the day was Beautiful!  My only regret is that I did not meet all who rode to personally thank them.  Please, if possible, pass this message along.  You are strong, noble heroes in my book and am forever grateful!

Humbled and Honored by your presence.

Ride Captain was District # 4 Bud Zartman:

I just wanted to take this moment to thank you for your services/ and tribute to my Step Mom Linda.  The things you did for her  from the viewing, to the Funeral made her ceremony as a Veteran so much more beautiful, meaningful, and special.  What your organization provides for Veterans is truly special.  I speak this as her daughter, and also for my son who is currently in the Army, and actually graduating next week at Ft. Rucker as a Black Hawk Pilot...I am so proud.  I will donate and support your efforts from now on...  you are truly special people to do what you do, and I am so appreciative.  Patriotism, and honor is still alive.  thank you.

Again thank you.........  mine, and my Dads words of thanks do not seem nearly enough!
