Mr. Woods,

My thanks go out to you and the members of the Ohio Patriot Guard Riders for such a memorable and heartfelt "homecoming" that you and your members provided to my family on the 24th of March. Words alone can't begin to re-lay the debt of gratitude that we hold for you and your organization for not only honoring my grandmother, Lucelia McCawley, but my deceased grandfather as well. The day, historic in and of itself, marked my grandmother's 90th birthday. However, the participation of the Patriot Guard truly turned it into an emotional and memorable day for all in attendance. Many thanks to you and your riders for all that you do and the cause you represent. It is for people like you, and the values you stand for, that I continue to serve the calling of this great nation on Active Duty and protect the liberties of both the nation and the people I hold dear to my heart. God bless you, and the members of the Patriot Guard.

Kind Regards,

-John Hotek

RE: PGR services for William “Ray” Chandler – WW2 Vet

Date: April 24, 2012

Dear Bob,

On behalf of the entire Chandler family I wanted to thank you for your quick response in deploying a very professional and courteous squad to the visitation on April 23, 2012 and funeral services on April 24, 2012 for William “Ray” Chandler, a proud WW2 Army Vet and my tremendous father-in-law. Your men, arriving on their motorcycles, braved the cold and wind to stand outside the funeral home flags-in-hand for the entire visitation. Very professionally the PGR helped close the visitation by reading a proclamation about Ray Chandler to the bereaved family and gracious visitors. Then again early the next morning they arrived on their rides to post flags across the front grounds and to stand guard for the entire funeral ceremony. Following the services they escorted our fallen comrade to the cemetery where they stood guard until every last person had left the graveside – very, very impressive.

Your men made a lasting impression on our entire family – you should be very proud of them. I think what impressed our family most was their comments to us that they were honored to have us let them attend the services and honor a fellow veteran. While we know they spoke from their hearts on behalf of themselves and the entire PGR, it was actually our honor to have them attend and conduct themselves in such a patriotic manner. If you could, please thank each member of this deployment for us.

As a longstanding member of the Marine Riders, having participated in many similar assignments with the PGR, I have come to expect nothing less than the first class execution your team delivers each and every time. Please keep up the excellent work – your association, and its members, brings dignity to the grieving families of fallen veterans.

Semper Fi!

Gene
