I am the proud daughter of a Vietnam Vet and I want to thank you all for all you do. I live in Clermont County Ohio. The home county of Matt Maupin. I was glad to see him come home, but not the way he did. You ALL did a wonderful job making sure his services were honorable. Matt became an icon of hope and faith during these times and I know we all hoped that he would be able to walk off of that plane. Following the services, I met one of your members at a gas station and I wanted to make it a point to thank him personally for all that you do. I hope I didn't embarrass him but it was my way of thanking you ALL. Keep up the great work and again thanks!

A Clermont County Native

Respects, TO ROBERT SMITH AND ALL THE PATRIOT GUARD...

THIS HAS BEEN A VERY HARD TIME, A STRESSFUL TIME AND A TIME OF REFLECTION.  ON MONDAY JULY 30TH, 2007 WE HAVE LAID A BROTHER FIREFIGHTER TO REST.  WE RUNG HIM HOME AND PAGED HIM HIS FINAL ALARM.

THE SUPPORT THAT WE HAVE RECEIVED  FOR NOT ONLY OUR DEPARTMENT, FOR THE ENTIRE TRAINER FAMILY AND THE COMMUNITY HAS BEEN FANTASTIC.  WE HAVE NOT WANTED FOR ANYTHING.  THE TEMPEST TO JON'S LIFE WAS THE TRIBUTE THAT HE RECEIVED THIS WEEK.  YOU AND YOUR MEMBERS STANDING THERE AS WE CAME INTO MUTUAL MENT SO MUCH. AS I WAS COMING DOWN THE ROAD, I HAD DEPUTY IN THE CAR WITH ME AND I COULD NOT HOLD MY EMOTIONS ANY LONGER. YOUR TRIBUTE HIT ME IN THE HEART.

I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO EXPRESS MY DEEPEST HEART FELT THANK YOU TO EACH ONE OF YOU!  THERE WERE SO MANY PEOPLE WHO CAME TO SAY GOODBYE TO A FRIEND AND COMMUNITY MEMBER BY STANDING  THE ROUTE.  I FELT THAT OUR COMMUNITY HAS GROWN TODAY.  I WISH I COULD SAY IN WORDS HOW MUCH IT MEANT.  YOU TAUGHT ME TODAY WHY I DO WHAT I HAVE DONE FOR OVER 20 YEARS AS A FIREFIGHTER, EMT OR DEPUTY.   IT NEVER MATTERED WHO NEEDED HELP, I GAVE IT.  TODAY I SAW THAT PEOPLE DO STILL CARE!  I THINK JON WOULD HAVE BEEN HUMBLED BY THIS HONOR.   I KNOW THAT GOD WILL BLESS EACH ONE OF YOU FOR THE WORK THAT YOU DO.  IF THERE IS ANYTHING THAT I CAN DO, PLEASE CONTACT ME AND I WILL DO EVERYTHING IN MY POWER TO MAKE IT HAPPEN.

AGAIN THANK ALL OF YOU, BE SAFE,  AND MAY GOD ALWAYS RIDE WITH.

LT PHIL MCMAHILL
